Calling on the Muse
I am more than sure that this class is not the first class that I heard the term "Muse" in. Yet, I am more than sure that this is the first class that I actually got wrapped up into the word and its purpose. Do I particularly believe that the Muse is an actual spirit that is not of this world? I honestly do not know. I feel that the muse could at some point or time be some kind of spirit that is influencing our thoughts and work, yet at other times I believe the Muse could very well come from within us. I feel that the human mind, body, and soul is complex enough to generate creativity without having to be influenced by some outside presence; be it drugs, alcohol, or some kind of supernatural. Not that I am denouncing the act of using any kind of substance in order to produce, I simply feel that all you need is your notebook and pen.

In contrary, this is the first time I’ve ever heard of the word “Muse.” At first I was not too fond of it but, it began to grow on me. The synonym that comes to mind when I think of the word muse is creativity. The muse is simply access to another part of your brain. Using those creative juices allows one to transcend ideas, patterns, imaginations, and originality.
