Looking Back

Looking back on this class I feel I have grown so much as a poetry writer. After I finished my portfolio and notebook I went through them both and read my poems. My notebook especially shows the change in my writing, the quality of my poems gets better the farther into the notebook I went. I had a lot of fun putting these two together, especially with revising. At first I thought that revising my poems would be a chore, but ended up really enjoying it. Seeing the difference between the original pieces and the revised ones is a great feeling because the improvement really does show. Now that this class is over, I plan on writing and revising still. I have found writing poetry has really helped me relieve the immense amounts of stress that come with the college life. I used to write for this reason, but haven't in a few years. I am really glad that this class brought poetry back into my life.
