Thankful I took this class

Poetry has always been near and dear to my heart. I never really let anyone read my poems and I always felt like they were no good. They were my journal the closest thing I have ever come to. This class though opened my eyes to a whole new world. I have always been rather conservative with my choices of poetry and I never just let my mind go I always had a focus or a story to tell. In this class I learned to let the muse do the talking and my pen the walking and honestly the results were always a surprise. I really liked the effect the muse had on me and my writing. When I read my poem to the class in workshop “World Changing” and the expressions and the silence after was first very intimidating but actually very rewarding… with my poem I touched people not everyone put a few. That single memory in this class will be lasting and eternal. I have always loved poetry and how it affected me but never how the author felt and now I do. I have a whole new appreciation for poetry and what it has to offer the world Thank you for this experience, Professor McCoy and my classmates
